Coin, denarius
A base silver denarius coin of Emperor Septimius Severus, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 193-211. The back of the coin depicts Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 207.
Obv: Laureate head of Septimius Severus, facing right. Obv inscription: SEVERVS PIVS AVG. Rev: Victory, naked to waist, standing right, with her left foot set on a helmet, inscribing a round shield set on a palm tree. Rev inscription: PM TR P XV COS III PP.
